history

The church of Nübbel

The village was first mentioned in 1331. Agriculture and shipbuilding were characteristic of the place, which had up to seven shipyards for the manufacture of wooden ships . The last shipyard ceased operations in 1914. The local museum is housed in the Anna mill.

politics

Community representation

Of the former 13 seats in the municipal council had Wählergemeinschaft KWG since the municipal election 2008, six seats, the SPD four seats and the CDU three seats. After disagreements about the designation of wind energy areas, two members of the KWG and one member of the SPD joined the newly formed community of voters Bürgerforum Nübbel BFN. Thus the KWG had four seats and the CDU, SPD and BFN three seats each. After the election on May 26, 2013, the BFN was able to assert itself as the strongest force with seven direct mandates. The KWG currently has three, CDU and SPD two seats each.
