Alt Duvenstedt is a municipality on the edge of the Hüttener Mountains in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . Krummenort is located in the municipality.

Geography and traffic

Alt Duvenstedt is located a few kilometers north of Rendsburg in the Hüttener Berge nature reserve . To the east lies the federal motorway 7 from Hamburg to Denmark. The federal highway 77 and the Neumünster – Flensburg railway line run to the west .

The Duvenstedt station , which opened on October 4, 1854, was renamed Alt Duvenstedt on October 1, 1919 . The breakpoint was closed on May 31, 1988.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1328 as Duvenstede . Neu Duvenstedt was re-founded in 1763 as part of the Geest colonization and today forms a separate community with other settlements. The name Alt Duvenstedt originated in 1919 when the local train station got this name.

From 1924 Alt Duvenstedt formed together with Rickert the District Alt Duvenstedt. Alt Duvenstedt has been part of the Fockbek office since 1948 .

Of the 13 seats in the municipal council, the CDU had seven seats since the local elections in 2008, while the SPD and the ADW electoral community each had three seats. After the election on May 26, 2013, the ADW has five, the CDU and SPD four seats each. After the local elections on May 6, 2018, the SPD has eight seats and the CDU five seats. The Alt Duvenstedter voter community (ADW) was no longer running for election.

The Hugo Junkers barracks belonging to the Hohn Air Base is located in Krummenort . The air transport squadron 63 (LTG 63), parts of the sea ​​battalion and the medical supply center Alt Duvenstedt (SanVersZ Alt Duvenstedt) are housed in this barracks.

In January 2019 it was announced that both the Hohn Air Base and the Hugo-Junkers-Kaserne in the Krummenorter Heide - depending on the phase-out of the Transall C-160 transport aircraft - should be closed in 2022. In August 2019, however, the Federal Ministry of Defense announced that the property would not be given up as part of the trend reversal in terms of personnel and material.

The 5th Company of Reconnaissance Battalion 6 from Eutin , which was previously also stationed in the Hugo Junkers barracks , was disbanded on March 31, 2013.
