Osterstedt is a municipality in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1349 as Ostede . The community consists of the two districts Alsen and Osterstedt, which are separated by the Osterstedter Au.

Geography and traffic

Osterstedt is about 27 km west of Neumünster and 22 km south of Rendsburg on the edge of the Aukrug Nature Park . The federal highway 77 from Rendsburg to Itzehoe and the federal highway 430 from Neumünster in the direction of Schenefeld cross to the southeast of Osterstedt . The place is on the Neumünster – Heide railway line , which is served by the Northern Railway .
