Haßmoor is a municipality in the Westensee Nature Park in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . Höbek and Wittenkamp belong to the municipality.
Geography and traffic
Haßmoor is located about 25 km west of the state capital Kiel and about 20 km east of Rendsburg in a rural area. The federal motorway 7 runs southwest from Denmark via Hamburg to the south. To the north, the federal motorway 210 leads from Rendsburg to Kiel , accessible via the Bredenbek driveway.
history
The name Haßmoor probably comes from Old Low German and means Hirschmoor. In the course of time the language changed, and so the Hirschmoor became Haßmoor.
Barrows from the Stone and Bronze Ages have been preserved in the municipality .
Until 1910 the place belonged to Gut Emkendorf and has been an independent municipality since 1915.
