Schönbek is a municipality in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . Schönbekerholz is located in the municipality.

Geography and traffic

Schönbek is 7 km north of Neumünster on the federal highway 7 to Flensburg, which runs through the municipality. The Bordesholm triangle , where the federal motorway 215 branches off to Kiel , is also in the municipality.

In the western part of the municipality there are extensive raised bogs on which peat was previously extracted .
