Ellerdorf is a municipality in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . Besides Ellerdorf, the community has no other districts.

Geography and traffic

Ellerdorf is about halfway between Rendsburg and Neumünster . The place can be reached via the federal highway 205 , the federal highway 7 and the railway line from Rendsburg to Neumünster.

The place is about three kilometers from the geographical center of Schleswig-Holstein, which is in Nortorf .

Economy and Infrastructure

The area is dominated by agriculture . There are also a small number of other trades, primarily handicrafts. There are no industrial settlements. In addition to a grocery store, there are several smaller service providers in Ellerdorf.

Since 1998, the two-day Wilwarin Festival has been held in Ellerdorf every year at the beginning of June , an alternative open-air spectacle with several thousand visitors. The musical focus was initially on punk and metal , now the festival is more broadly based, hip-hop bands and an e-stage are also represented. A total of around 60–70 bands and DJs appear on five stages.
