Rumohr is a municipality near Kiel in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . Bornhorst, Hüttenkratt, Rotenhahn, Rumohrholz, Rumohrhütten and Sprenge are in the municipality.
Geography and traffic
Rumohr is located a few kilometers southwest of Kiel on the federal motorway 215 from Kiel to Neumünster .
history
It was first mentioned in 1245. In that year, Gottschalk, at the time Overbode von Holstein, confirmed that the von Ehndorf brothers had transferred several farms to the Neumünster monastery . One of the witnesses of the certification of this process was a Scacco de Rummore (in German: Schack von Rumohr). The place name is derived from the rough moor .

Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the KWG has had seven seats since the 2013 local elections and the CDU two. Of the eleven seats in the municipal council, the KWG has eight seats and the CDU three since the 2018 local elections.

The municipality is mainly agricultural, but there are also extensive housing developments.
Personalities
The local researcher and photographer Theodor Möller (1873–1953) grew up in Rumohrholz. In April 2013, the community dedicated a memorial stone to him on the occasion of his 140th birthday.
