Groß Buchwald is a municipality near Bordesholm on the Eider and Drögen Eider in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . Fischerhof, Kluven, Ovendorfer Redder and Sahrendorf are in the municipality.

history

A settlement in the Bronze Age is proven by archaeological finds.

The place, laid out as a Rundling , was first mentioned in 1230 and belonged to the Bordesholm Monastery from 1392 .

When Albrecht von Wallenstein besieged Rendsburg in 1627 , Groß Buchwald was also occupied.

The village belonged to resolution of the circle Bordesholm to Plön . During the district and office reform in 1970, Groß Buchwald came together with four other municipalities to the Bordesholm office, which at that time was still called Bordesholm-Land , in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district.
