Prinzenmoor (Danish: Prinsemose) is a municipality in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . Hamdorferweide, Kamp, Langenberg and Wittenbergen are in the municipality.

Geography and traffic

Prinzenmoor is located about 15 km southwest of Rendsburg in a moor landscape on the Eider . The federal highway 203 from Rendsburg to Heide leads through the place.

history

Prinzenmoor was founded in 1761 as part of the Geest colonization . The place was one of the first Geest colonies and was named after the son of the Danish King Frederick V named. However, since cultivating the barren soils with the technology of the time was difficult, twelve of the sixteen southwest German families fled the colonist village in 1764. However, they were caught and severely punished, some had to help build the fortress in Rendsburg , others were transferred to new colonist positions, one colonist was expelled.

In the 19th century there were glassworks in the municipality.

Angela Sommer-Bodenburg , the creator of the Little Vampire , lived in Prinzenmoor until 1992. Several places in the village became literary famous for this story.
