Reesdorf is a municipality in the Eidertal in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein .

Geography and traffic

Reesdorf is about 11 kilometers north of Neumünster and 15 kilometers south of Kiel between the federal highway 215 and the federal highway 404 .

There are two cultural monuments in Reesdorf: The Eider Bridge from 1803 and the “ Widder ”, an old dynamic pressure water lifter that has been reliably in service since 1936.

The Eidertal hiking trail runs in Reesdorf in the designated nature reserve along some wet meadows, which are now home to rare Heck cattle and Koniks (wild horses).

history

The name of the village is first found around 1278. In that year a Detlef von Reddegesthorp is mentioned in the Kiel city ​​book . In 1331 the Neumünster monastery acquired the entire village, after the secularization of the monastery in 1566 the village came under the Bordesholm office .
