Beringstedt (Low German: Bernste ) is a municipality in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . Ostermühlen is in the municipality.
Geography and traffic
Beringstedt is located around 30 km west of Neumünster and around 30 km east of Heide in a wooded, rural area. The place is the station of the Northern Railway served Neumünster-Heide railway .
history
Geological finds show that the municipality has been settled since the Stone Age. The place belongs to the Holstein primeval villages.

Community representation
Of the nine seats in the municipal council, the CDU has four seats since the local elections in May 2013, the KWG electoral community three and the AWG electoral community two seats.

Blazon : "In green a silver boulder standing upright , above a golden elm leaf with a golden oak leaf each on the left and right."
The boulder was originally the capstone of a large stone grave . It was reworked into a memorial for the first German Emperor of the German Empire and is now in the center of the village (Lage)

The municipal area is predominantly agricultural, but there are also businesses, housing estates and tourism. Commuters mainly work in Itzehoe , Neumünster and Rendsburg .
