Oldenhütten is a municipality in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein .

Geography and traffic

Oldenhütten is located about 20 km northwest of Neumünster in the Aukrug Nature Park . The federal highway 205 runs northeast from Rendsburg to Neumünster.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1538 as Hutten . The meaning of the place name has not been conclusively clarified.

In the village, which was in a wooded area, pitch and charcoal were produced, and later there were also brickworks.

Before Oldenhütten came to the Rendsburg district in 1867, the community belonged to the forest villages. At the same time, a school association was founded with Holtdorf , the school was halfway between the two places.
