The federal autobahn 210 (abbreviation: BAB 210 ) - short form: Autobahn 210 (abbreviation: A 210 ) - is a 25 kilometer long autobahn in northern Germany . It connects Rendsburg with the Schleswig-Holstein state capital Kiel .
history
The line was opened to traffic between 1987 and 1989 and replaces federal highway 202 in this section .
The original plan was to run the A 210 through the Kiel districts of Mettenhof and Suchsdorf and the municipality of Kronshagen in order to connect it to the motorway-like B 76 in Kiel-Wik , instead of connecting it to the A 215 at the Kiel-West junction . The so-called Mettenhof slip road is the only part of this motorway that has been completed and was not built any further due to protests.
State of development
The A 210 has four lanes throughout. It has no hard shoulder along its entire length, but only an emergency stop every 500 meters . Therefore, a speed limit of 120 km / h applies on the entire route.
The Kiel-West motorway junction was designed as a variation of the clover leaf with a semi-direct ramp . This can be traced back to the building history, the A 215 (east-south relation) was built in the early 1970s.
