The federal highway 995 (abbreviation: BAB 995 ) - short form: Autobahn 995 (abbreviation: A 995 ) - connects the south-western parts of Munich with the federal highway 8 (Munich - Salzburg ) and the Munich-East ring road (A 99). It is eleven kilometers long and has two lanes and hard shoulder in each direction.

status

Despite the continuous blue signage and the state of development of the motorway, originally only the short distance between the Munich-Süd junction and Sauerlach was actually dedicated as a federal motorway ; the route between the Sauerlach junction and the southern border of the Munich through-town (for example the Munich-Giesing junction ), on the other hand, was designated as Bundesstraße 13 (new) ; the Autobahn Directorate South Bavaria was responsible for this section according to Section 3 (2) (a) of the Ordinance on the Transfer of Powers under the Federal Highway Act. No motorway or federal road number was given on the entire route, only the European road number 54 .

On January 1, 2018, the entire route was finally upgraded to the federal motorway 995 (BAB 995), which also installed new signs showing the motorway number.

Trivia

As of October 1, 2019, the responsibilities for the A 995 were as follows:

  • in the area of the Munich-Giesing junction (1) and the Munich-South motorway junction with the A 8 or A 99 (21/95) at the Hohenbrunn motorway maintenance office.
