The federal motorway 559 (abbreviation: BAB 559 ) - short form: Autobahn 559 (abbreviation: A 559 ) - runs from the south as an extension of the A 59 from the Porz triangle to Cologne-Vingst . It crosses the Bundesautobahn 4 at the Köln-Gremberg junction .
The North Rhine-Westphalian state road 124 , which has also been developed as a motorway, continues from Cologne-Vingst to Cologne-Deutz . Since this section does not belong to the federal motorway, it is toll-free and is not signposted as the A 559.
A 59 branches off at the triangle Porz to Heumar from where they in the A 3 / 4 A ( Cologne ring threading). This branch was opened in the early 1980s to relieve the Cologne-Gremberg junction . In 2015, the new bridge on the B 55 over the L124 was started on Deutzer Ring in Cologne . The new building was already completed at the end of December 2016 (originally planned for mid-2017) and was within budget.
