The federal autobahn 114 (abbreviation: BAB 114 ) - short form: Autobahn 114 (abbreviation: A 114 ) - is a motorway in Brandenburg and for the most part in the north of the German capital Berlin . It connects the A 10 motorway (Berliner Ring) from the Pankow motorway triangle over eight kilometers to Berlin city center . The sections of the route were gradually opened to traffic between 1973 and 1982.

course

The motorway begins in Schönerlinde (district of Wandlitz , district of Barnim ) at the Pankow motorway triangle and runs through the districts of Berlin-Buch , Berlin-Blankenfelde and ends in Berlin-French Buchholz . There it turns into federal highway 109 , which runs through the Berlin-Pankow district, among other places .

The motorway is currently in poor condition and has no hard shoulder . The speed is limited to 80 km / h (60 km / h for vehicles over 3.5 t GVW ) due to the condition of the road , damage is only sparsely repaired.

A thorough renovation is planned for the next few years. Five bridges (Pankebrücke, Bahnhofstrasse-Bridge, Bucher-Strasse-Brücke, Hebammensteig, Königsteinbrücke) are to be newly constructed and three bridges (Laakebrücke, Schlossalleebrücke, Malchower-Weg-Brücke) are to be upgraded. Furthermore, the missing hard shoulder will be added and the equipment (e.g. signage, passive protective devices, lighting) will be replaced in accordance with the current regulations. The start of construction is planned for 2016, the construction time will be three and a half years. Around 33 million euros are assumed to be construction costs.

The Bucher Straße junction has only one exit to the north and only one access to the south ( semi-junction ). In the course of the planned renovation of the A 114, nothing should be changed. However, the state of Berlin is continuing to expand into a full connection point. After approval by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure , a plan approval procedure is still required to obtain building permits .
