The federal autobahn 840 (abbreviation: BAB 840 ) - short form: Autobahn 840 (abbreviation: A 840 ) - was a planned autobahn in Baden-Württemberg . It was to lead from the A5 near Offenburg via Kehl to Strasbourg . Today, the B 28 , which has been developed similar to a motorway, runs along the planned route and merges into the N4 at the French border .
