The triangle Porz (abbreviation: AD Porz ; long form: Autobahn triangle Porz ) is a freeway triangle on the federal freeways 59 and 559 in the city of Cologne . It is about 1.5 km south of the Gremberg motorway junction ( A 4 / A 559) and the Heumarer Dreieck ( A 3 / A 4 / A 59). The motorway triangle was created in 1982 with the extension of the A 59 to the Heumarer Dreieck.
Design and state of development
The triangle is designed as a fork in the motorway , so that there is no connection between the A 559 and the northern part of the A 59. This relation can only be established via the A 4 running north or via the Rath (32) junctions on the A 59 and Gremberghoven on the A 559. Both motorways have four lanes in the area of the triangle. Only the A 59 has three lanes between the airport junction and the Porz triangle in the direction of Cologne.
