The motorway junction Duisburg-Süd (abbreviation: AK Duisburg-Süd ; short form: Kreuz Duisburg-Süd ) connects the highways 59 (Duisburg - Bonn) and 524 (Duisburg - Ratingen), as well as the federal highways 288 and 8n . It has the shape of an adapted shamrock .

The Duisburg-Süd motorway junction is located in the Duisburg-Süd district . The closest districts are Großenbaum , Huckingen and Rahm .
The motorway junction has junction number 16 on the A 59 and number 2 on the A 524.
history
The motorway junction was opened in June 2012. In November 2014 the cross became passable from all directions. Only a few lane markings were still missing. Before 2012, the cross was still used as a junction (AS) Duisburg-Süd. The motorway junction does not take place, as the financially largest project of StraßenNRW, on the homepage of StraßenNRW.
Design and state of development
The A 59 to the north, the A 524 to the east and the B 8n to the south are four lanes, the B 228 to the west is two lanes.
The motorway junction was created as an adapted clover leaf . It is planned to completely convert the B 288 to Krefeld as a continuation of the A 524.
Traffic volume
In 2015 the cross was used by around 55,000 vehicles every day.
