The motorway junction Duisburg-Nord (abbreviation: AK Duisburg-Nord ; short form: Kreuz Duisburg-Nord ) is a motorway junction in North Rhine-Westphalia in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region . It connects the federal highway 42 ( Emscherschnellweg ) with the federal highway 59 ( Duisburg - Bonn ).
geography
The motorway junction is located in the city of Duisburg , in the Meiderich / Beeck district . The closest districts are Alt-Hamborn, Beeck , Bruckhausen and Meiderich . It is located about 5 km north of Duisburg city center, about 8 km west of Oberhausen and about 20 km northwest of Essen .
To the southeast of the cross is the Duisburg-Nord landscape park .
The Duisburg-Nord motorway junction has junction number 6 on the A 42 and also on the A 59.
Design and state of development
The A 59 has four lanes, the A 42 has six lanes. All connecting ramps are single-track.
The motorway junction was designed as a turbine with an indirect ramp . On the A 59, the junction forms a double junction with the Duisburg-Althamborn AS .
Traffic volume
In 2015 the cross was used by around 155,000 vehicles every day.
