The motorway junction Bonn-Ost (abbreviation: AK Bonn-Ost ; short: Kreuz Bonn-Ost ) connects the highways 59 (section Heumar - Bonn) and 562 (Bonn-Friesdorf - Bonn-Holtorf), as well as the federal highway 42 . The motorway junction is located east of the Rhine in the Beuel district of Bonn .

Design and state of development

The cross is laid out as a clover leaf with a semi-direct ramp. Both motorways are each laid out with four lanes. The federal highway 42 is considered to be a motorway-like road and is also laid out with four lanes. There are plans to expand the A 59 to six lanes in the three-kilometer section from the Bonn-Nordost junction to the Bonn-Ost junction.

The A 562 ends here and becomes Oberkasseler Straße . The A 59 merges directly into the B 42 at a cross.

From autumn 2015 to June 2018 the motorway junction Bonn-Ost was expanded. In order to reduce the backlog on the south bridge , a separate lane was built for the exit onto the A 59 in the direction of Cologne. The completion of the remaining construction work was planned for September 2018.
