Jonathan Joubert (born September 12, 1979 in Metz ) is a French - Luxembourg football goalkeeper . He currently plays for the Luxembourg first division club Swift Hesperingen .

Career

Jonathan Joubert began playing football in the offspring of his French home club, FC Metz . After the end of his youth he played there in the reserve team until 1999. In the summer of 1999 he went to the first Luxembourg league for CS Grevenmacher . In 2004 he moved on to the F91 Dudelange . On September 11, 2016, Joubert played his 425th first division game in Luxembourg, replacing Denis Scuto as the record player in the BGL Ligue . After 16 years, 20 national titles and almost 450 competitive games for the F91, he moved on to the first division for the 2020/21 season - promoted Swift Hesperingen .

After his naturalization , Joubert made his debut in the Luxembourg national team on June 3, 2006 in a friendly against Portugal (final score: 0: 3) . In September 2016, he played the last of his 86 international matches in Bulgaria and ended his career in the national team for the time being. Due to the injury-related failures of his two successors Ralph Schon and Anthony Moris , national coach Luc Holtz called him back to the national team for two games against Belarus and France in August 2017. He then played four more international matches by October 2017 and finally ended his career in the national team with 90 appearances.
