Wolfgang Lüttges (born August 1, 1950 in Krefeld ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Lüttges began his professional career in the West Regional Football League at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, for which he scored 10 goals in 46 games. In 1972 he moved from Bayer 04 Leverkusen to Bayer 05 Uerdingen . He played with the Krefeld team in the Regionalliga, then in the newly created 2nd Bundesliga . Under coach Klaus Quinkert he scored 14 goals in the 1974/75 season , making him the team's most successful goalscorer ahead of Peter Falter and Friedhelm Funkel . At the end of the season, Lüttges and his teammates came in second in the northern relay behind Hannover 96 . As a result, promotion to the Bundesliga was within reach for the Werkself. A relegation round against the second in the southern season, the FK Pirmasens , was necessary for the ascent . The first leg ended 4: 4, Lüttges scored two goals. Uerdingen won the second leg in front of a home crowd 6-0; Lüttges scored the 5-0, so the promotion was perfect. In total, he played 101 games for Krefeld, in which he scored 36 goals. Despite the rise, Lüttges moved to fellow promoted Hanover 96. Hanover ended up in the final table before Lüttges' old employer, but was relegated anyway.

He played in the 2nd Bundesliga for the next two years, after which he returned to Bayer after 86 games and 24 goals for the Reds. In the 1977/78 season he was fifth on the goalscorer list with 22 hits and thus contributed to reaching second place and the subsequent round of promotion. There was SpVgg Bayreuth defeated, thus Lüttges managed for the second time promotion to the Bundesliga. During the following Bundesliga season he moved to Viktoria Köln after a short time after five games , where he ended the season with 23 games and nine goals, then he went to Viktoria Goch and played there until 1986.
