Bundesliga 1975/76

The 2nd Bundesliga 1975/76 was played in two seasons (north and south) of 20 teams each. The two relay champions Tennis Borussia Berlin (North Relay) and 1. FC Saarbrücken (South Relay) rose directly to the Bundesliga . The third promotion place was played in the relegation between the two second-placed Borussia Dortmund (North Season) and 1. FC Nürnberg . Here Dortmund prevailed and rose to the Bundesliga.

Hannover 96 , Bayer 05 Uerdingen (in the North relay) and Kickers Offenbach (in the South relay) were relegated from the Bundesliga and played in the second division the following season.

North

Tennis Borussia Berlin, as champions of the 2nd Bundesliga North, managed to return directly to the Bundesliga, from which they had been relegated a year before as the second to last. The Wuppertaler SV , also relegated last year, missed this goal as fifth. As the second climber, Borussia Dortmund prevailed in the relegation against the second of the 2. Bundesliga South, 1. FC Nürnberg. After four years of being in the second division, the Bundesliga was again reached.

Relegated to the respective top leagues were 1. FC Mülheim , SpVgg Erkenschwick , DJK Gütersloh and Spandauer SV . None of these clubs managed direct resurgence in the following season. Norbert Stolzenburg of Tennis Borussia Berlin was the top scorer of the North season with 27 goals.

    1. FC Saarbrücken rose again twelve years after relegation from the Bundesliga as champions of the 2. Bundesliga South. 1. FC Nürnberg, qualified as second in the league for relegation, failed on second in the Northern League, Borussia Dortmund. Thus Nuremberg remained in the second division and only rose to the top division two years later. The previous year's relegated from the first division, VfB Stuttgart , reached eleventh place in the table without having had a chance of promotion.

    In addition to the league newbies SSV Reutlingen 05 and Eintracht Bad Kreuznach , last year's third 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 was relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga. Due to the return of the license by 1. FSV Mainz 05 and the associated relegation to the amateur league Southwest, the sporty relegated SSV Jahn Regensburg remained in the 2. Bundesliga.

    The top scorer of the southern season was Karl-Heinz Granitza from Röchling Völklingen with 29 goals.
