Horst Bender (born November 11, 1954 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

In the game year 1972/73, the A-youth was used in the DFB youth national team. He made his debut on September 12, 1972 at the international match in Rovaniemi against Finland on the side of Kurt Niedermayer , Uli Stielike and Charly Körbel in the DFB team. He represented the colors of the German youth team in the qualifying games against Holland and Poland in March 1973 and also took part in the UEFA tournament in Italy in April / May 1973. Bender completed a total of 15 international youth matches. From FC Homburg , for whom he had played 14 games in the Regionalliga Süd in 1972/73 , Horst Bender came to Bundesliga club 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 1973 . There he came to two Bundesliga appearances in two years and moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken in 1975 in the 2. Bundesliga . With the FCS he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 1976 and relegated again in 1978 . A year later he went to the second division promoted Röchling Völklingen , but he left after relegation. He signed a contract with SpVgg Bayreuth , also a second division.

He played for Bayreuth until 1984, which started in the Bavarian League from the 1982/83 season. From 1984 (1984/85 season) he played for Offenburg, Oberliga Baden-Württemberg, in the 1985/86 and 1986/87 seasons at SV Linx, Verbandsliga Südbaden, which rose to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in 1987, where Bender played until 1988 From the 1988/89 season he was player-coach at SV Nussbach district league A club and in the 1989/90 season he was player-coach at SV Legelshurst.

Today Bender plays with the old men of the Sportfreunde Aegidienberg.
