Ferdinand Biwersi (born June 24, 1934 in Bliesransbach , † September 4, 2013 in Mont-roig del Camp , Spain ) was a German football referee .

Ferdinand Biwersi came from Bliesransbach and was a detective by profession . As a DFB referee, he headed a total of 121 games in the Bundesliga from 1965 to 1978 and a total of 27 games in the 2nd Bundesliga between 1974 and 1978 . In 1971 he was appointed head of the DFB Cup final . One of his last games was the 12-0 between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund on April 29, 1978 . Because of his good performance, he was named the best referee of the year by the DFB in the 1975/76 season .

Biwersi was on the FIFA list between 1969 and 1978 . During this time he was in charge of 16 international matches and 26 European Cup matches, including the first leg of the 1976 UEFA Cup final between Liverpool FC and Bruges Club .

In 1972 Biwersi led the game between the USSR and Sudan at the soccer tournament of the Olympic Games in Munich. In 1974 Ferdinand Biwersi took part as line judge in the soccer world championship in Germany (two appearances), on June 11th 1978 he led the game between Sweden and Spain  (0: 1) at the world championship in Argentina in Buenos Aires . In the further course of the tournament he had two missions as a linesman.

In the early 1980s, Biwersi was a referee chairman on the board of the Saarland Football Association. In 1996 he settled with his wife Sieglinde in Miami Playa , Spain , where he lived until his death on September 4, 2013.
