The 1976/77 UEFA Cup was the 6th edition of the competition and was won by Juventus Turin by beating Athletic Bilbao in the final .

The 64 teams played against each other in pure cup mode in six rounds with home and return games. In the event of a tie, the number of goals scored away first decided, followed by overtime and a penalty shoot-out.

The most successful German team this season was 1. FC Magdeburg who made it to the quarter-finals, but failed there because of the eventual winner Juventus Turin.
