The 2002/03 UEFA Cup was the 32nd edition of the competition and was won by FC Porto against Celtic Glasgow . The final took place in the Olympic Stadium in Seville .
mode
All clubs that had occupied one of the UEFA Cup places regulated by the UEFA five-year ranking at the end of last season were eligible to participate . As in the previous year, three clubs qualified for the first round via the UEFA Intertoto Cup . The competition was played in seven rounds in two legs (excluding the finals). In the event of a tie, the number of goals scored away was decided first , then overtime, if no decision was reached after 15 minutes twice, a penalty shoot-out followed until the winner was determined. In the third round, the eight clubs eliminated from the first group stage of the Champions League as third-placed clubs joined the field of participants.

The first leg took place on August 15, the second leg on August 29, 2002.
1 round
The Fulham FC , the FC Málaga and VfB Stuttgart qualified via the 2002 UEFA Intertoto Cup .
The first leg took place on September 19, the second leg on October 3, 2002.
2nd round
The first leg took place on October 31, the second leg on November 14, 2002.
3rd round
AJ Auxerre , Liverpool FC , AEK Athens , Olympique Lyon , Dynamo Kiev , Maccabi Haifa , RC Lens and Club Brugge qualified for the third round of the first group stage of the 2002/03 UEFA Champions League .
The first leg took place on November 28, 2002, the second leg on December 12, 2002.
