The FC Senec is a former Slovak football club from Senec . The club played from 2006 to 2008 in the Corgoň liga , the top Slovak division. In 2002 his predecessor KOBA Senec , who played in the first division in 1999/2000, won the Slovak Cup and the Slovak Supercup. In June 2008, FC Senec merged with DAC Dunajská Streda and thus de facto dissolved.

history

Club football has been played in Senec in western Slovakia since 1919. On August 4th of that year an association with the Hungarian abbreviation SZAC was founded. This club was renamed in 1922 in Szenci Testgyakorlók Köre , SZTK for short . In 1935 SZTK merged with Meteor to form SK Senec . From 1941 to 1946 the association was called Levente .

After the Second World War there were numerous renaming, DSO Slavoj Sene c played from 1954 to 1956 and again in 1957/58 in the third-highest Czechoslovak division. In 1959 the association was renamed Energia Senec and in 1978 Poľnohospodár Senec . In 1980 the team was promoted to Divize-západ , one of seven groups in the 3rd division, which was only divided into four after a reorganization in 1981/82. Poľnohospodár played in the 2nd SNL - západ and reached third place.

In 1983 the association was renamed Montostroj Senec . In the next few years, the team always played for promotion to the Slovak group of the 2nd division ( 1st SNL ). In 1987/88 she only had to let FK Slovan Duslo Ša Vorta take precedence due to the poorer direct comparison, a year later it was finally enough for the long-targeted ascent.

In the 2nd division Senec took sixth place in 1989/90. In 1989 or 1990 the association was renamed again, but the name is not entirely clear. Some sources speak of STK Senec , others of AKP Senec , and yet another of PNZ . It may also have been a new establishment, as many sources state 1990 as the year of establishment. At least from the 1991/92 season onwards, the name STK Senec seems secure.

In the last joint season of Czechoslovakia 1992/93 it was clear that the first six teams from the Slovak group of the 2nd division would be promoted to the new first Slovak division. On the last day of the match, STK Senec had to defeat Chemlon Humenné at home to achieve this goal. In front of 3,549 spectators, however, Senec lost 3-1, the rise was missed by two points.

In the season 1993/94 STK Senec got into big problems. On matchday 20 and 21, the team did not play again, in June 1994 they played their last game in front of 152 spectators and lost 7-0 to Slovan Bratislava 's B team .

The club was finished, but not football in Senec. A new club called KOBA Senec was founded, which competed in the fourth division in 1994/95. Immediately the team was promoted to the third division. Koba merged with VTJ Bratislava to form FK VTJ KOBA Senec and made it through to the second division in 1995/96.

In the 1998/99 season Senec finished second at the end of the season and was thus promoted to the first division. The third-placed ŠKP Tatran Devín , however, objected to the evaluation of the game Senec against FKM Nové Zámky (1-0) on the first match day and initially had success. On June 17, 1999, the Slovak Association rated the game for Nové Zámky, which Devín was promoted instead of Senec. The association overturned this judgment eleven days later, and VTJ Koba Senec was finally in the first division.

In the 16-team league Senec was tenth, but had to relegate because the number of teams was reduced to ten. In the following years Koba Senec could not intervene in the promotion fight.

Koba Senec achieved the greatest success in the club's history in the 2001/02 game year. In the final of the Slovak Cup , they defeated the first division Matador Púchov 5-3 on penalties . A short time later, Koba also won the Slovak Supercup. In the 2002/03 UEFA Cup , the team were eliminated in the second preliminary round against Bosnian representatives NK Široki Brijeg 2-1 and 3-0.

In 2004, a joint-stock company called FC Senec was founded, which took Koba Senec's place in the 2nd division. The main shareholders were the German entrepreneur Daniel Jammer and Jozef Valovič, who were also the coach of the new team. The club colors were changed from red and white to orange, and a new club logo was created.

In 2005/06 FC Senec landed in third place, which was enough for promotion to the Corgoň league due to the expansion .

In the 2006/07 season, FC Senec finished sixth, and in 2007/08 the team was tenth in the Corgoň league. Then the club merged with DAC Dunajská Streda and de facto dissolved.
