Club history

The club was founded in 1904 as the Dunaszerdahelyi Atlétikai Club . For many years in lower leagues, the DAC rose to the 1st Czechoslovak League in 1985. In 1987 the team won the Slovak and Czechoslovak Cups . In the 1987/88 European Cup Winners' Cup , the DAC was eliminated in the first round against BSC Young Boys with 2: 1 and 1: 3. This season, with third place in the league, the best result in the club's history was achieved. In 1988/89, Dunajská Streda played in the UEFA Cup . In the first round, the Swedish representative Östers IF was defeated 0: 2 and 6: 0, the second round opponent FC Bayern Munich then proved to be too strong, the DAC lost 1: 3 and 0: 2. 1992/93 the team was fourth in the league and was allowed to start again in the UEFA Cup in 1993/94 . However, the DAC did not get past the first round: both at home and away, the team lost 2-0 to SV Austria Salzburg . In the newly established Slovakian league , the DAC played in the front in the first few years, from the mid-1990s the results got weaker and weaker until in 1998 it was no longer possible to avoid relegation. Although the immediate promotion was successful, but after the championship was reduced from 16 to ten teams, after only one year they had to go back to the second division. The DAC played there continuously since 2000, before returning to the Corgoň league in 2008 . Since then the club has played in the top Slovakian league. In the 2012/13 season DAC played again in the 2nd soccer league .

The home games take place in the MOL Aréna .
