The newspaper Felső Zemplén on August 4, 1912 reported on Michalovce's game against Football Club Pozdišovce 0: 6. ŠK Zemplín Michalovce played unsuccessfully in 1939 for promotion to the highest Slovak league. In the 2014/15 season, the club was first in the 2nd soccer league and thus rose to the Fortuna league for the first time .
