Peter Hyballa (born December 5, 1975 in Bocholt ) is a German football coach .
career
In his first coaching positions, Hyballa initially mainly looked after youth teams, for example at his home club Borussia Bocholt and at 1. FC Bocholt , where he coached the U-17s for two years. In 1998 he was discovered by Preußen Münster , where he was responsible for the U-17 for the next three years. In 2001, Hyballa moved from Münster to Arminia Bielefeld , where he took over the position of A youth coach. After a short detour from 2002 to 2003 to Namibia to the Ramblers Windhoek , where he was head coach for the first time, he returned to Germany. From 2003 to 2007 he coached the U-19s of VfL Wolfsburg and in 2007 reached the final of the DFB Junior Club Cup with the A-youth , which was lost 1: 2 against the youngsters of TSV 1860 Munich . In the summer of 2007, Hyballa took over the U-19s from Borussia Dortmund . With her he won the Westphalia Cup in 2008, was West German champion in 2009, DFB vice-cup winner in 2009 and German runner-up in 2009 . The junior cup final was lost to the offspring of SC Freiburg on penalties, in the final of the German championship Hyballa's team lost 1: 2 to the A-youth of 1. FSV Mainz 05 , supervised by Thomas Tuchel .
On April 15, 2010 Hyballa signed a two-year contract with Rot-Weiss Essen as head coach. After the club went bankrupt on June 4, 2010, the contract was terminated and Alemannia Aachen hired him as head coach of its second division team for two years from the 2010/11 season . On September 13, 2011, Hyballa and his assistant coach Eric van der Luer were given leave of absence and their contracts were terminated by mutual agreement. The team was at that time with only three points and one goal scored in the last place in the table in the second division.
From January 2012 to June 2012, Peter Hyballa was the coach of the Red Bull Juniors in Salzburg . His job was to introduce the talents there to the combat team.
For the 2012/13 season Hyballa signed a two-year contract with SK Sturm Graz , but was dismissed standing on a Europa League place on April 22, 2013.
For the last games of the 2013/14 season , Hyballa returned to Germany as Sascha Lewandowski's assistant coach . He became interim successor to coach Sami Hyypiä, who had been sacked at Bayer 04 Leverkusen . Both signed a contract until the end of the season and achieved the goal of qualifying for the Champions League. After the Bundesliga season was over, Hyballa Bayer 04 stayed in a new position; in June 2014 he signed a two-year contract as head coach of the Leverkusen U-19s.
After the end of his contract in late June 2016, Hyballa left the Leverkusen club and joined the Dutch first division club NEC Nijmegen . He signed a two-year contract with the NEC, but was fired on April 24, 2017 after seven straight defeats.
Hyballa was briefly a trainer instructor at the DFB (“Pro License”) from May 2018 , but ended his engagement at his own request.
On July 16, 2018 he became head coach of FC DAC Dunajská Streda in the Slovak Fortuna league . He signed a two-year contract. In the 2018/19 season he led the club to second place and thus to the best result in decades, which was synonymous with qualifying for the European Cup . After Hyballa did not want to extend his contract prematurely in the second year - in third place - he was released with immediate effect during the winter break.
In February 2020 he took over the coaching position at the Dutch second division club NAC Breda .
