The A-Juniors Bundesliga 2008/09 is the sixth season of the A-Juniors Bundesliga .
As in the previous five seasons, it will be played in the North / Northeast, South / Southwest and West seasons. At the end of the season, the three season winners and the runner-up in the south / south-west season play for the German A youth championship. The semi-finals will be played in a two-way leg, the final in one game. The last three teams of the three seasons are relegated to the subordinate leagues.
A-Juniors Bundesliga 2008/09 (North / Northeast relay)
As the season winners of the A-Youth Regional Leagues North and Northeast of the preseason, VfL Osnabrück and 1. FC Union Berlin take part in the A-Junior Bundesliga as direct promoters. The runners-up of both seasons, FC St. Pauli from Hamburg and Hertha Zehlendorf from Berlin, played off the third climber in a relegation , with St. Pauli finally reaching the A-Juniors Bundesliga. Thus, both Hamburg and Berlin are represented with two clubs each in the relay.
From the subordinate leagues, SV Bergisch Gladbach rose as a representative of the A-Jugend-Verbandsliga Mittelrhein, Wuppertaler SV Borussia as a representative of the A-Jugend-Verbandsliga Niederrhein and SG Wattenscheid 09 from the A-Jugend-Verbandsliga Westfalen in the A-Juniors -Bundesliga. This means that Bochum is the only city with two clubs in the relay.
A-Juniors-Bundesliga 2008/09 (Relay South / Southwest)
As direct climbers from the subordinate leagues, SpVgg Unterhaching came from the A-Youth Bayern League and FC 08 Villingen from the A-Youth Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in the A-Junior Bundesliga. The promotion aspirants of the A-Jugend-Regionalliga Südwest and the A-Jugend-Oberliga Hessen played the third climber in a relegation , with the Hessian club Kickers Offenbach prevailing against the Südwest representative 1. FC Saarbrücken. With 1860 and Bavaria, Munich is the only city with two clubs in the relay.
