Fabian Götze (born June 3, 1990 in Memmingen ) is a former German soccer player who played as a left-back or in the left midfield.

Career

Fabian Götze started playing football at SC Ronsberg in the Allgäu . Later, due to his father Jürgen Götze's job, he moved to Dortmund with his younger brother Mario . There he continued his youth career first with Hombrucher FV 09 and from 2001 with Borussia Dortmund . His youngest brother Felix was born in Dortmund in 1998.

With the B and A juniors of Borussia he was in four finals, all of which were lost: 2006 and 2007 the games for the German B youth championship , where he led his team as captain on the field in 2007 ; In 2009 the playoffs for the German A youth championship and the DFB junior club cup . In the cup final, Götze was the only Dortmund player to miss on penalties .

In his first season he played 26 times and scored once, in his second season in Bochum there were 33 games and Götze scored five goals.

For the 2013/14 season Götze moved to the 3rd division and joined SpVgg Unterhaching . He made his debut on July 20, 2013 in a 0-0 draw against Jahn Regensburg , and scored his first goal in a professional league on matchday 12 in the away game at RB Leipzig , which ended 2-2.

After the end of the 2014/15 season, his contract with SpVgg Unterhaching was not extended. He then ended his career and devoted himself to his studies in the International Business Department at the Europa Akademie in Munich, which he completed in 2018 with a bachelor's degree. From 2018 to 2020 he followed up on a master’s degree in international business at the Munich Business School, which brought him to Fudan University in China for one semester, where he has been project manager in BVB’s China business since 2019.

Götze played six times for the German U-17 national team in 2006 and 2007 and scored one goal.
