David Vržogić (born August 10, 1989 in Wuppertal ) is a former German professional football player who is still active as an amateur after his career has ended.

Career

Vržogić, whose parents come from Serbia , initially played for TuS Grün-Weiß Wuppertal, who was based in his birthplace . In 1998 he joined the youth department of Borussia Dortmund, where he went through all youth teams and from 2006 to 2010 belonged to the extended professional squad. He only played games for the second team ; first in the Regionalliga Nord , in which he made his debut on August 4, 2006 (1st matchday) in a 0-0 home game against Kickers Emden , later in the Regionalliga West and in the 2009/10 season in the 3rd division . In this he made his debut on July 25, 2009 (1st matchday) in the 3: 4 defeat in the away game against Wacker Burghausen .

2010/11 he was a season long as a regular player for the second division relegated Rot Weiss Ahlen active. For the 2011/12 season , the third division relegated FC Bayern Munich II signed him for the Regionalliga Süd . For the 2014/15 season , Vržogić moved to the second division Dynamo Dresden .

For the 2015/16 season he moves to the fourth division Alemannia Aachen in the Regionalliga West , for which he made his debut on August 8, 2015 (2nd matchday) in a 1-1 home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach II . After the 2015/16 season, Aachen was no longer planning Vržogić. By then he had played 20 league games in the Regionalliga West.

In August 2016 he moved to the Regionalliga Nord for SV Meppen . With the 4-1 win in the home game against Hamburger SV II on April 30, 2017 (31st matchday), he and his team are mathematically certain as champions of the Regionalliga Nord. With the end of the third division 2019/20 season, Vržogić ended his professional career at SV Meppen.

For the 2020/21 season, the defender received an amateur contract with the Lower Saxony district division ASC Grün-Weiß Wielen.

National team

From 2004 to 2008 Vržogić was a regular member of the squad of the German Football Association's selection teams . In 2006 he took part as a left-back with the U-17 national team in the European Championship , which was held in Luxembourg from May 3rd to 14th, played five tournament games and formed the back four with Björn Kopplin , Christopher Schorch and Florian Jungwirth until the game for third place . In his 36 international junior matches , he scored two international goals .

Vržogić has been married to real estate agent Helen Weersmann since 2013. Their daughter was born in September 2015.
