The 2014/15 season of the 3rd football league was the seventh season of the single-track, third-highest German division in men's football .

The season began on July 26, 2014 and ended with the 38th and final matchday on May 23, 2015. The winter break interrupted the season from December 21, 2014 to January 30, 2015. The relegation games between the sixteenth of the 2. Bundesliga and the third of the 3rd division took place on May 29, 2015 (first leg) and June 2, 2015 (second leg)

Arminia Bielefeld secured the third division championship for the first time. Ostwestfalen were also confirmed as promoted players with one matchday before the end, as was MSV Duisburg . Holstein Kiel qualified for the relegation games against TSV 1860 Munich , but missed the leap into the 2nd Bundesliga. In the end, the Stuttgart Kickers held fourth place, which entitles them to participate in the DFB Cup .

SSV Jahn Regensburg was the first to be relegated early on. After 37 match days, the relegation of Borussia Dortmund II was sealed, at the end of the season that of SpVgg Unterhaching .

    The Gazi Stadium on the Waldau , the venue for the Stuttgarter Kickers and VfB Stuttgart II, was rebuilt and was therefore not available in the first half of the season. Therefore, the Stuttgarter Kickers moved to Reutlingen in the first half of the season in the stadium at the Kreuzeiche, while VfB Stuttgart II played in the Aspacher Mechatronik Arena for the entire season.
