The following clubs qualified for the 2014/15 season:

Ascent and descent

  • Promotion to the 3rd division:
For the participation in the promotion round to the 3rd soccer league , the champions 1. FC Magdeburg qualified and prevailed in this against Kickers Offenbach . With Magdeburg's rise, another place in the regional league was vacated for a club from the fifth-class soccer Oberliga Nordost .
  • Relegation from the Regionalliga Nordost:
Before the season it was decided to increase the Regionalliga Nordost from 16 to 18 teams from 2015/16 . There were various scenarios for reaching the target strength of 18 teams in the 2015/16 season, depending on the sporting progress of both the 3rd division and the promotion round to the 3rd division. Prior to the 2014/15 regional league season, at least one and a maximum of three relegated teams from the regional league to the major league were planned.
On January 1, 2015, insolvency proceedings were opened for VFC Plauen and the club was forced to relegate. The insolvency administrator of the association brought an action against him. On May 11, 2015, he withdrew the lawsuit on behalf of VFC Plauen. The club was now relegated.
On April 7, 2015, 1. FC Union Berlin announced that it would withdraw its second team at the end of the season.
Because of this, there was no athletic relegation from the Regionalliga Nordost to the Oberliga Nordost.
  • Promotion to the Regionalliga Nordost:
Since no club was relegated from the 3rd league to the regional league and VFC Plauen (forced relegation), 1. FC Union Berlin II (deregistration) and 1. FC Magdeburg (promotion to the 3rd league) left the regional league, the Northeast German Football Association to five clubs from the Oberliga Nordost starting places for the 2015/16 regional league season.
The champions FSV Optik Rathenow (season north) and RB Leipzig II (south) as well as the runner-up champions FC Schönberg 95 (north) and FC Oberlausitz Neugersdorf (south) made direct promotion from the Oberliga Nordost . In a direct duel between the third-placed teams in both Oberliga seasons, FSV 63 Luckenwalde (North) prevailed against SSV Markranstädt (South) as the last to be promoted from the Oberliga Nordost.

1On January 1, 2015, insolvency proceedings were opened against VFC Plauen . According to the regulations of the regional league, Plauen was determined to be relegated and should have stopped playing. In terms of football, however, the association decided on January 28, 2015 to let Plauen continue playing before the team had to be relegated to the top division at the end of the season. On February 20, 2015, the NOFV decided again not to rate Plauen's games. The insolvency administrator of the VFC obtained an injunction against this decision on February 26, 2015, so that the games were initially assessed. On April 17, 2015, this temporary injunction was repealed and an oral hearing was scheduled for May 13, 2015. At the same time, the Plauen games were canceled. On May 11, 2015, the insolvency administrator of the VFC announced that the lawsuit against the forced relegation would be withdrawn.
2On April 7, 2015, 1. FC Union Berlin announced that it would no longer register its U-23 team for the 2015/16 season. By renouncing the Union, there was one less relegation.
