Velimir Jovanović (born August 25, 1987 in Niš ) is a Serbian football player .

Career

Jovanović came to Germany with his family during the Balkan War . He began his career in the youth field at FSV Malchin , in 2003 he moved to the youth department of 1. FC Neubrandenburg , and in 2005 to FC Sachsen Leipzig . After he did not get beyond missions in the Landesliga Sachsen , he went to the top division TSG Neustrelitz in 2007 . After he was the top scorer with 26 goals this season in the upper league season 2009/10 , Energie Cottbus brought him for his U-23 team, which had been promoted to the regional league. But he also played several times for the professional team in the pre-season. At the U-23 he scored five goals in 14 games. He made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on December 19, 2010 in a 4-0 win at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . There he came on in the 81st minute for Jules Reimerink and scored the goal in the 90th minute to make it 4-0. His contract ran until 2012.

In July 2011 Energie Cottbus awarded Jovanović to third division club FC Carl Zeiss Jena . On January 26, 2012, FC Carl Zeiss Jena ended the loan deal and Jovanović returned to Cottbus. He was loaned to 1. FC Magdeburg until the end of the season. Shortly before the start of the 2012/13 season, Jovanović moved back to his former club TSG Neustrelitz . In the summer of 2014 Jovanović joined FC Carl Zeiss Jena; he received a two-year contract. With 16 goals in 27 games, he contributed to fourth place in the table for his team in the 2014/15 season . From January 2016 he was under contract with TSV Steinbach in the Regionalliga Südwest.

At the beginning of 2017, Jovanović terminated his contract there and joined Greifswalder FC . With the club he rose in the 2017/18 season from the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Association to the Oberliga. Then he signed the relegated from the third division regional league Rot-Weiß Erfurt .
