The bluechip-Arena is a football stadium in the Thuringian town of Meuselwitz in the Altenburger Land district . The soccer club ZFC Meuselwitz plays its home games here. The naming rights were acquired from the computer manufacturer bluechip .
history
The stadium was opened in 1952. The venue, which was renovated between 2002 and 2004 for 4.2 million euros, now offers 5,260 spectator seats (1,216 of which are seated). The naming rights of the four tiers with a total of 1,216 seats were sold to sponsors. In addition, there is standing room for 4,044.
The entire facility includes another grass pitch with 700 seats (250 seats) and floodlights measuring 92 × 64 meters and an artificial turf pitch 94 × 62 meters with floodlights. There are 605 parking spaces available. In addition, u. a. a mini golf course ; a children's playground and a bowling alley ready. Between 2007 and 2008 the north grandstand was roofed over for € 515,000 and the facility was expanded.
The Meuselwitz stadium was one of twelve central German venues for the 2009 U-17 European football championship in Germany . The game between Turkey and the Netherlands (1: 2) took place here on May 9, 2009 .
