The Arena zur Vogtlandweide is a football stadium in the west of the Saxon town of Auerbach in the Vogtland district . The football club VfB Auerbach plays its home games here. The stadium facility offers around 4,580 seats.

history

On September 18, 1921, VfB was able to move into its new stadium on Ziegeleiweg. At that time, an athletics facility surrounded the Aschenplatz . On October 24, 1949, the record attendance of 7,500 spectators filled the VfB stadium for the VfB game against SG Planitz  (0: 3). The following year, the ash place was replaced by natural green . In 1988 the spectator rank at the sports center was redesigned into a small pitch with artificial lighting . This significantly improved the club's training opportunities.

Four years later, the small pitch received an artificial turf surface . Also in 1992, an audience area with a roof, seven rows of seats and 750 seats was built on the west side. It consists of a steel structure with concrete supports . The roof consists of profile steel sheets . In the meantime, an irrigation system is also part of the equipment of the VfB stadium. In 1993, the guest fans were given standing room on the back straight, which at that time still consisted of a steel construction. Since 1995, the field in the stadium has also had a floodlight system. The 21 headlights offered an illuminance of 174  lux . A later upgrade made the stadium with 420 lux suitable for the regional league. After setting up a new ticket office in the entrance area and a toilet facility, the club bought a site at the south stand for a cup game against Dynamo Dresden . A second entrance was built there.

After a year of construction, the completion of the 1.2 million Euro South Stand was celebrated in spring 2009  . It offers sanitary facilities that meet the requirements of the DFB . It also has seating, offices and a lounge area. In the summer of that could VIP - lounge are open for sponsors and donors. After the groundbreaking in September 2017, a bowling facility with four lanes for 1.2 million euros was opened at the stadium on October 1, 2018 . The plan was to cost 750,000 euros. The construction was funded by the "Bridges to the Future" measure. It is the new home of the Auerbach bowling club (SKV). The new building is 35 meters long and ten meters wide. There is a spectator area, changing and sanitary rooms as well as a disabled toilet. The facilities of the facility can also be used by visitors to the stadium. 450 seats were installed on the "roof" of the railway. These are plastic seats from the Erzgebirgsstadion , home of FC Erzgebirge Aue , which were removed before the renovation. With the addition, the number of seats increased from 1700 to 3500. In April 2019, the club announced that the stadium will receive a video wall . The used video scoreboard comes from the stadium on Gellertstrasse , the venue of Chemnitzer FC . In addition to football, it can also be used for summer night cinema, public viewing or concerts . After the last home game of the CFC, the video screen was dismantled at the end of May 2019.

Since February 11, 2020, the stadium has officially been named Arena zur Vogtlandweide . This became known before the friendly against the third division Chemnitzer FC (2-2). The game was agreed to financially compensate for the league home game that did not take place against the insolvent FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . With the renaming, the association would like to thank the longstanding sponsor , the dairy company Vogtlandmilch , for its loyalty. Auerbach and its surrounding communities have a rural character. In addition, the club wanted to integrate the Vogtland into the name.
