Company premises

The Bluechip Computer AG (own notation: bluechip ) is a computer manufacturer based in Thuringia Meuselwitz in the district Altenburger Land . The main focus is on the production of business notebooks , PCs and servers and their distribution through specialist dealers.

history

In 1992, Hubert Wolf, today's CEO, founded bluechip Computer Großhandelsgesellschaft mbH. The transformation into today's bluechip Computer Aktiengesellschaft took place in 2000.

Until the bankruptcy of Agfa Photo GmbH in 2005, bluechip was the main supplier for the company and manufactured, among other things, a photo kiosk, which bluechip continues to market itself today. Another cooperation exists with Sony , for whom bluechip manufactures photo printers, among other things.

In the 2008/2009 financial year, bluechip generated sales of EUR 74.85 million with 220 employees in 25,000 m² of production and logistics buildings and produced 135,000 PCs. In the 2009/2010 financial year, bluechip employed 230 people and generated sales of 89 million euros.

In October 2010 it was announced that Bluechip Computer AG was taking over the Brunen Group, one of the largest German PC online retailers. Bluechip thus indirectly came into the possession of the “One” brand, under which PCs and notebooks compiled by Brunen IT were previously sold.
