history

During the GDR times, the footballers were organized in the section of the BSG Lautex. After reunification , the gymnastics and ball game club was founded, in which soccer was a division alongside handball, gymnastics and cycling. On December 12, 1992, the football department separated from the TBSV and founded the Oberlausitzer Fußballclub Neugersdorf e. V. On July 1, 2003, the name was changed to FC Oberlausitz Neugersdorf e. V. effective.

Until 1995 the OFC Neugersdorf played in the Dresden District League. When the promotion was successful, the club was able to establish itself in the Landesliga Sachsen . From the 2001/02 season the team played in the NOFV-Oberliga Süd. In 2006, the club rose as the bottom of the league table back in the state league of Saxony. In the 2012/13 season, the Saxony championship was won three game days before the end of the season, which entitles them to return to the NOFV-Oberliga Süd.

On December 12, 1992, a historic general meeting took place in the Neugersdorf restaurant "Hotel Lampelburg". The football department of TBSV Neugersdorf separated from the parent club and founded the "Oberlausitzer football club Neugersdorf - OFC". The most successful years of Neugersdorfer football began with promotions in the state and major leagues. From the youth training center of the Saxon Football Association, a DFB training center was created in Neugersdorf. In 2003, the club was renamed "Oberlausitz Neugersdorf Football Club - FCO". The training and playing conditions improved after the turf cure on the lawn, the construction of an artificial turf arena and the conversion and construction of changing rooms and sanitary facilities in the Jahnturnhalle. In the Sachsenpokal 2014/15, FC managed a 2-1 victory over third division team Dynamo Dresden in the quarter-finals. The 2014/15 season ended with the club's first promotion to the fourth highest division, the Regionalliga Nordost . In their first season 2015/16 they reached 5th place in the table as a newcomer. After the 2018/19 season, the team that had been relegated in terms of sport withdrew from the regional league for financial and structural reasons.
