The VfB 1921 Krieschow is a sports club from the town of Krieschow in the Kolkwitz community in the Spree-Neisse district . The football department became champions in the Brandenburg League in the 2016/17 season and was promoted to the Northeast Football League .

history

The club was founded in 1921 in the Gasthaus Krüger , but only started playing in the 1923/24 season. After Germany surrendered in World War II , all sports clubs were dissolved, the club was only re-established in 1948 and shortly afterwards renamed itself to SG Krieschow . In September 1950 the association was assigned a carrier company and from now on it was called BSG Traktor Krieschow . Until the fall of the Berlin Wall, football was only played at the district level. In 1990 it was renamed to the original name VfB Krieschow .

For the 2008/09 season, the VfB Krieschow was district champion in the Niederlausitz football district and was promoted to the South Brandenburg regional class. In 2013 he was promoted to the Landesliga Süd Brandenburg, and in the second season 2014/15 he was promoted to the Brandenburg League . The 2015/16 season ended in ninth place after the team had been leaders for a week after the third match day. The season 2016/17 ended the VfB Krieschow at No. 1, whereby the first-time promotion to the Oberliga Northeast has been reached. In the first league season in the club's history 2017/18 , VfB Krieschow reached 8th place in the table, and Andy Hebler was the top scorer this season.

Other departments

The table tennis section was founded in 1951, the gymnastics section was added in 1953, and the handball section was added in 1955 . The handball and gymnastics sections were later disbanded. In 1972 the Kegel Billiards section was founded . In 2001, two women's gymnastics groups were formed and a volleyball team was brought into being.

The VfB 1921 Krieschow plays its home games at Sportpark Krieschow who find this almost exclusively about 2,000 spectators around the field while standing place. A modern functional building with a specially operated sports club forms the core of the sports park. In March 2018 a new playground and a larger parking area were created, and a new ticket office with two ticket offices is to be created in winter 2018/19.
