With the Weinroten he briefly made the jump to the first men's team, in which he came in 1983/1984 , still as a junior player, and in 1984/1985 to a total of three short appearances in the GDR Oberliga and thus contributed to the championships of the BFC in these performed in both playing years. Mostly he was after leaving the junior division in the summer of 1984 for BFC Dynamo II in the second-class league .
In 1986 Fandrich was delegated (from) to BSG Energie Cottbus. He was a regular player in Lusatia from the start. He played his first game on August 16 against FC Karl-Marx-Stadt , which Cottbus lost 3-1. In his first season he came to 26 missions and one goal , but could not prevent relegation to the second highest division of GDR football , the league . In the 1987/88 season , the company sports club from Lausitz managed to get back up immediately. Fandrich played a large part in this with 34 deployments as a regular.
In 1990 he moved to 1. FC Union Berlin in the GDR league. He also won the relay with the Iron. However, he did not get with Union beyond the qualifying round for the 2nd Bundesliga and then played in the then third-class amateur league . There Union took first place in the middle of the NOFV-Oberliga in 1991/92 , but failed in the subsequent relegation. Then Fandrich returned to Energie Cottbus, which also played in the Oberliga Nordost. By 1995, from the summer of 1994 in the newly created regional league as the third division , he made 84 appearances. In his last season at Cottbus in 1995/96, Fandrich only played two games before he went to SV Werben. There he ended his career in 1998.
Selection bets
Shortly before the start of the tournament , Fandrich was nominated for Sven Förster and played for the GDR junior team at the U-18 European Championship in 1984 . He was used in one of the three group games, the only victory (4-0 against Luxembourg's juniors), by DFV coach Frank Engel . In the previous summer he was part of the squad of the GDR U-18 team that was the only East German selection to win the friendship youth competition .
