Dynamo Lübben

Club coat of arms of the SGD Lübben

Dynamo Lübben first appeared in 1961 in the then fourth-class district league Cottbus in higher-class GDR football. The team played in the traditional wine red and white, analogous to other Dynamo teams. Lübben initially acted only in the lower table regions, with the dissolution of the 2nd GDR league , the relegation to the district class took place.

Dynamo Lübben reported back in 1966 in the highest league in the Cottbus district , but was only able to establish itself in the league from 1969 after a temporary relegation. In the period that followed, Dynamo only narrowly failed to rise behind Lokomotive Cottbus and activist Brieske-Senftenberg . In the 1976/77 season, the first promotion to the GDR league succeeded behind the second representation of Energie Cottbus, who were not eligible for promotion . With just ten season points, the police sports club and Motor Görlitz were relegated by return of post. The same scenario was repeated in 1979. After the renewed ascent, this time the Brandenburger started the immediate relegation with the SG Sosa .

The district league held Lübben until 1983 and then went down to the district class.

SV Grün-Weiß Lübben

The reunification of Germany led to the merger of the two Lübben football clubs Motor and Dynamo. In the summer of 1991 the club SV Grün-Weiß Lübben eV was christened and shortly afterwards experienced its greatest sporting success to date: 1992 promotion to the national league.

Since the end of the 1990s, the team experienced some relegations and finally found themselves in the district league again. It was not until the 2006/07 season that he returned to the national league. In the following season Lübben even marched as a promoted player in the top division of Brandenburg, the Brandenburg League. The club was able to stay there for five years, until after the 2011/12 season relegations from the Brandenburg and state leagues followed. A change was immediately initiated and a new board of directors was installed around the first chairman Christian Leyer. The first successes came after just a year. The first team won the Spreewald Cup and secured second place in the national class. On average, the league and cup games came to around one hundred more viewers than last year. Since 2015 you have played in the southern season of the regional league. Grün-Weiß Lübben was the first to finish the 2016/17 season in the Landesliga Süd and was promoted to the Brandenburg League.
