Dirk Minkwitz (born November 30, 1966 in Lübben (Spreewald) ) is a former German soccer player in the storm . He played for BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

Minkwitz went through the youth departments at SG Dynamo Lübben up to the first team. In 1988 he moved to the upper division BSG Energie Cottbus. There he made his debut on the 9th matchday of the 1988/89 season when he came on as a substitute for Tim Thamerus on October 22, 1988 in the 3-0 win against BSG Stahl Brandenburg in the 90th minute . Minkwitz had his second and last appearance two game days later. In 1989 he moved to the BSG activist Black Pump , for which he completed five games in the second-rate GDR league. In 1990 he spent one season at SC Siemensstadt before going back to his homeland and playing for several small clubs. In 2000 he ended his career.

In the following years Minkwitz worked at several lower class clubs as a coach.
