On January 21, 1956, the company sports community (BSG) activist “Black Pump” based in Spremberg was founded for the workers of what was then the Schwarze Pumpe gas combine . After the connection of the BSG activist "Spreetal", a BSG with 16 sports sections was created. The first team in the soccer section started in the district class. In the same year another merger was carried out with the financially troubled BSG unit Spremberg and activist was able to take over their place in the district league Cottbus . This could not be held, however, and it followed in 1957 a year in the district class (5th division). After the immediate resurgence, activist played again in the district league until 1959 and was district champion that year. The team had thus qualified for the third-class II. DDR -Liga. With the rise, the BSG left the Spreetal stadium in Spremberg and from then on played in the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Stadion in Hoyerswerda. At the end of the 1960 season, the activist had to relegate from the second GDR league. In 1965 the BSG was able to rise to the second-rate GDR league as a new district champion and after a successful promotion round (the II. GDR league had since been abolished). Between 1965 and 1970 activist commuted constantly between the GDR and the district league. In 1970 the team had qualified again for the GDR league. After the 2nd match day of the 1970/71 season, activist was relegated to the district league again because of financial manipulation in the past season. However, it succeeded in the return of promotion, and then the team was able to assert itself permanently in the GDR league until the end of GDR football. In the GDR Cup ( FDGB Cup ), activist advanced to the quarter-finals in the 1970/71 cup. After the top division team from Wismut Aue was defeated 2-1 in the round of 16 , Dynamo Dresden stopped the Hoyerswerda team 2-0 at home.

In the seasons 1981/82 to 1983/84 activist Black Pump achieved his best result with a 2nd place in the league season D. The 1982/83 squad included the following players:

  • Goal: Uwe Zimmermann, Lutz Schmuck
  • Defense: Hartmut Wenzel, Peter Buschner, Ralf Hellpoldt, Jürgen Schanze, Jens Ruhla, Henry Becker, Jens Fiedler
  • Midfield: Lutz Hattlieb, Manfred Scheunemann, Henry Burkon, Frank Papritz (captain), Ralf Schulz, Dieter Nitsche
  • Attack: Matthias Hiepler, Michael Nitzsche, Hartmut Strauss, Jörg Jenter

FSV Hoyerswerda

In the course of the political change in Germany, the soccer department split off from the BSG as a whole in 1990 and now appeared as the "BSG activist pump Hoyerswerda - soccer section". Only one year later, on May 29, 1991, the company changed into the "FSV Hoyerswerda" and was initially able to assert itself well in the newly founded NOFV Oberliga . When the coach and eight top players left the team in 1994 after a financially lucrative offer from VFC Plauen , Hoyerswerda was only just able to secure relegation at the end of the 1993/94 season. Then a new team had to be built: the squad was filled with youth players. In the following years, the FSV usually only occupied one place in the lower half of the table.

In 1998 the FSV had set itself great goals. The engagement of trainer Gerd Schädlich worked like a catalyst and the team found themselves in third place in the table, which entitled to promotion relegation. But the amateurs of the then second division tennis Borussia Berlin could not be beaten in the home game with over 4,000 spectators. In 1999, the new coach Eberhard Vogel brought more offensive urge to the team, all new signings prevailed straight away, and the FSV were then sovereign champions. This time they lost to FC Schönberg 95 in the relegation , after a 2: 2 in the first leg in front of 4,600 spectators and a 1: 2 in the North Germans, the second attempt at the Regionalliga was lost.

FC Lausitz Hoyerswerda

From 2003 the decline of the FSV began with the relegation to the Landesliga Sachsen. Between 2002 and 2004 more than 50 members left the association, in 2004 the association had to file for bankruptcy and was relegated to the district league. The idea of gaining new sponsors by renaming it to "FC Lausitz Hoyerswerda" on August 1st, 2002 did not work out, but bankruptcy was averted. Nevertheless, at the end of the 2004/2005 season, he was relegated to the district class.

In 2005 a fresh start was made. Under the coach Waldemar Adamowicz, who is popular in Hoyerswerda, it was possible to stop the further case. FC Lausitz has established itself in the district class, the number of members rose from the low of 180 in the previous year to around 250 thanks to a membership campaign by fans of the club. In 2006, the team was strengthened by newcomers and new sponsors were won. The number of members could be increased again to 300. On May 12, 2007, FC Lausitz made it into the district league with four game days to go - the first promotion in 26 years. A few game days later, successful coach Waldemar Adamowicz had to leave the club due to the sporty decline. With Hartmut Jank, an old friend took over the helm (player at the club from 1984 to 1995 and coach from 1993 to 1996). After the first half of the 2008/09 season Hartmut Jank left the club for personal reasons. Thomas Herold took over the baton, initially as a player-coach. Even under Herold, the FCL put back the usual final spurt in the second half of the season and ensured that they remained in the district league. Now the time had come for a major change. Older players such as Karsten Haasler and Carsten Schneider left the club, but their own youth players were increasingly built in. In the 2009/10 season, for example, the FCL often played with a squad that was on average hardly older than 20 years. After internal problems, the FCL waived relegation in the district league in the summer of 2010 and voluntarily relegated to district class 1 Dresden. There the club was only able to hold out for a year and was relegated from bottom of the table again.

Hoyerswerdaer FC

On July 1, 2016, FC Lausitz merged with local rivals Hoyerswerdaer SV 1919 (former BSG Aufbau ) to form the Hoyerswerdaer FußballClub and was able to exercise the promotion rights of Hoyerswerdaer SV 1919. Thus, the first team of Hoyerswerdaer FC has been playing in the eight-class regional league West Lusatia since then. The second team is represented in the Bautzen Season 2 regional league. The venue is still the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn Stadium.

The junior area is staffed from Bambinis to A-youth. The Hoyerswerdaer FC is one of the largest sports clubs in Hoyerswerda and one of the largest football clubs in the Bautzen district.

In the second season after the merger, coach Enrico Krüger and his team established the first team in the upper echelons of the regional league. Many players from their own offspring could be integrated into the men's division, so that there is a good mix between young and experienced players. This path will continue in the next seasons.

Even at club level, after years of plummeting football in Hoyerswerda, those responsible managed to put the last remaining city club back on a healthy, financial footing and to create stable club structures. The club marketing and the cooperation with supporters and local sponsors has been and is continuously improved.
