Matthias Heidrich (born December 10, 1977 in Hoyerswerda ) is a former German soccer player and currently, together with Carsten Schiel, director of the 1. FC Cologne's youth training center .
Career
Heidrich started in the Oberliga Nordost (South) at FSV Hoyerswerda . Between 2000 and 2005 he played for FC Erzgebirge Aue , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga after three years in the Regionalliga Nord . After two more years in Aue, he went to league competitor Alemannia Aachen , who made it to the top division in the 2005/06 season . Heidrich was elected there shortly after his move to the team council.
After playing for Aachen only 13 times in the 2nd Bundesliga, he only played ten times after being promoted to the Bundesliga . The season ended with the direct relegation of Aachen.
The defensive all-rounder moved from Alemannia Aachen to the second division promoted VfL Osnabrück for the 2007/08 season , where he received a three-year contract. In the defensive midfield he was able to establish himself as a regular player. After the descent of Osnabrück in 2011 to the 3rd division, Heidrich moved to Wacker Burghausen . His contract there was no longer renewed in the summer of 2013.
In March 2018, Heidrich successfully passed his coaching course and received the DFB football instructor license . In August 2018 he was hired by 1. FC Köln as the sporting director of the youth center.
Greatest successes
- Promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with FC Erzgebirge Aue in 2002/03
- 2nd place and thus promotion to the Bundesliga with Alemannia Aachen 2005/06
- Promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with VfL Osnabrück in 2009/10
