Krieschow , Kśišow in Lower Sorbian , is a place in the large municipality of Kolkwitz in the Spree-Neisse district in Brandenburg (Germany).
geography
Krieschow is 14 kilometers west of Cottbus and seven kilometers southeast of Vetschau between the A 15 and the former federal highway 115, which was downgraded to state road L 49 in 2004 . Surrounding villages are Milkersdorf in the north, Kunersdorf in the Northeast, Limberg in the east, Kackrow the southeast, Wiesdorf in the south of the city Vetschau in Oberspreewald-Lausitz belonging part of municipality Briesen in the southwest, Eichow the west and Babow in the northwest.
history
During excavation work in 1988 on the valley of the Kzschischoka , a burial ground and destroyed grave structures were found, which suggest that this area was settled as early as 1000 BC. Was present.
On September 29, 1315 Krissow was mentioned for the first time on a sales deed . The place name is derived from the Slavic personal name Krisch .
The foundation of the Krieschower Church consists of rocks. It is believed that there must have been a small chapel in the village as early as 1170. Krieschow has had its own parish since 1652, to which the residents of the surrounding villages come. The estate with the castle changed hands several times until it passed into the ownership of the Lords of Winterfeld in 1868 with Wiesendorf .
Krieschow was connected to the power grid in 1917, eleven years later the communities of Krieschow and Wiesendorf merged to form the rural community of Krieschow-Wiesendorf.
In 1934, the National Socialists passed laws to change the Wendish field and place names. The Kzschischoka was renamed Greifenhainer Fließ .
On January 1, 1926, Wiesendorf was incorporated into Krieschow. On January 1, 1972, Kackrow and Brodtkowitz followed . On December 6, 1993, Krieschow was incorporated into the Kolkwitz community.

Sights and culture
- The village church Krieschow is a hall church from the second half of the 15th century, the nave of which was increased in the 17th century. Inside there is, among other things, an altarpiece from 1680.
