Reinhard E. Fischer

Reinhard Ernst Fischer (* 1937 ) is a German linguist , name researcher and translator .

Live and act

Reinhard E. Fischer studied Slavic and German at the Humboldt University in Berlin . There he was in 1965 with the work of the place names of Zauche for Dr. phil. PhD . He then worked as a linguist at the Academy of Sciences of the GDR , in particular in the field of Slavic- German naming. He mainly dealt with place and water body names in the Brandenburg and Berlin area .

He wrote three volumes of the Brandenburg Name Book in the series Berlin Contributions to Name Research and finished a volume started by Gerhard Schlimpert .

Reinhard Fischer translates literary works and non-fiction from Czech , Russian , Polish , Slovak and Serbo-Croatian .
